Caroline Roberts-Cherry established Saffron Cherry TV Ltd in Manchester to make quality entertainment and factual programming from the North. SCTV is a multi-genre company working collaboratively with other producers and companies on a range of commissions.
Caroline Roberts-Cherry last year won both an RTS and a BAFTA for the film Ten Pieces that she executive produced for BBC 2 and cinemas.
She also works as a freelance executive producer and consultant and is currently the executive producer of Cash Trapped for ITV, a daytime quiz show starring Bradley Walsh. Her drama series Ding Dong is optioned to Smuggler Entertainment and SCTV has the rights to the children’s book series The World According to Grandpa by Chris Heath.
SCTV was selected as a participant on the 2017 Indie Lab run by the Mayor of London’s office and Caroline Roberts-Cherry sits on the advisory panel for England at Ofcom. She is also a trustee of the Royal Exchange, Manchester.
Previously, Caroline worked at the BBC in commissioning, production, and commissioning management. Production credits include Executive Producer A Question of Sport 2003 – 2010, Executive Producer Mastermind (including Celebrity and Junior) 2003 – 2012. Executive Producer I Want my own Room and Alesha’s Street Dance Stars both CBBC, and factual content including the Elizabeth Taylor tribute, Demolition series and Roots Remembered.
In commissioning, she was a multi platform cross genre commissioner for BBC Learning and titles included Our War, The Great British Sewing Bee, Exploring India and Inside the Houses of Parliament. She was the executive producer of Make it Digital which conceived and delivered the BBC micro:bit. She was also the Independents and Diversity Exec for BBC Television with responsibility for the Diversity Action Plan, and the roll out of Safeguarding BBC Values to the Independent Sector.

Working with TV professionals with strong track records in specific development genres, the Saffron Cherry slate includes quiz and game shows, a BBC development funded specialist factual documentary, a Channel 4 funded food pilot, London Live-funded comedy series and several factual entertainment series. We have also recently secured an option on a comedy film script and have secured exclusive development deals with top rated amazon selling cook book authors, Britain’s best cookery school and a rising young visual artist.
